Supports the Director of Benefits and Compensation by applying general employee benefits knowledge and logistical expertise to administer, evaluate and recommend improvements to the benefits programs and HRIS systems of LSS. Serves as a general subject matter expert on all LSS benefit programs and the primary subject matter expert for medical, wellness, flexible spending accoutns and COBRA benefits.
Monitors our health plan performance; Provides creative problem solving and proactive efforts to improve processes, reduce costs and increase the positive impact our benefits programs should have on employee engagement
Serves as a liaison between our benefits vendors and LSS, fostering productive relationships; Monitors and evaluates the ongoing performance of our benefits vendors and reports any issues or concerns to the DBC
Continually assesses how we may improve the employees’ experience with the benefits offered at LSS
Manages benefits procedures, which include our annual benefits enrollment, wellness testing, etc.
Serves as a subject matter expert on the technical aspects of employee benefits, as they relate to our HRIS system and external systems. Leads and/or assists with designing and building effective processes within our HRIS system to meet the needs of our internal and external customers
Serves as a resource for HR staff in the field, by providing benefits expertise and support, as well as training and education
Designs LSS-wide staff training, education, and communications
Performs and/or assists with recurring benefit audits, including but not limited to invoice reconciliation and general reviews of data integrity
Completes and/or assists with legally-mandated (federal, state and local) reporting and mailings, including but not limited to formal notices, 5500 statements and ACA-related reporting
Participates in external benefits surveys, by contributing LSS data as well as collecting benchmark and market data for LSS use
Provides ongoing reporting and metrics on benefits and compensation at LSS
Oversees the development and maintenance of written and electronic materials and documents for benefit programs, including annual enrollment and new employee orientation. Develops and maintains benefit information and resources for employees through the LSS online systems
Stays abreast of current market information, trends and data to provide information and recommendations on benefit programs and utilization, including ensuring that all LSS employee benefits programs are compliant with legal requirements
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Bachelor’s degree required 5 years of experience in employee benefits Strong computer skills; and creating reports for analysis and utilization Strong verbal, written and presentation skills Strong attention to detail
